Meet your Founder: Stefanie Karpis Mwaura

Tara Neher grew up in North Dallas and is married with 8 children. After years of working and consulting in the automotive world, Tara spent the last three years as a District Manager for Caddo Office Reimagined. In January, Tara took a big leap and decided to open you own business. Tara has always had a passion for knitting and crocheting and thus Yarn Therapy, llc. Yarn Therapy is a store that will fill a void in today’s society that has been missing since we created technology. In our current fast paced, immediate gratification world, Yarn Therapy will be the haven for people to slow down and connect. History shows that humans need connections and that is how we learn and grow. Knitting circles, quilting circles, barn building all used to be gatherings where young people learned from their elders and where stories were passed from generation to generation. Yarn Therapy will be a place where people can experience that same feeling when they come in to take classes or just come in and knit or crochet with others. Additionally, for those that can't make it into the store, Yarn Therapy will have an online community as well with patterns and how to videos. For those that love receiving gifts in the mail, there will be subscription boxes and more
