Rachel Olsen -Owner of She’s Gone Bananas

Rachel believes that She's Gone Bananas stands out due to her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to customer service.

Ever since she was a child, Rachel had a passion for food, cooking, and making people happy. This passion led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Rachel has had the opportunity to work for some of the largest hotel and restaurant companies, including Johnny Rockets, Marriott, and Lettuce Entertain You. In 2013, she moved from Chicago to Dallas, Texas. Missing the comforts of home and family, she baked a whole bunch of banana bread. When she shared it with a friend, the response was, "Rachel, you need to sell this!" Initially, she shrugged it off, but the encouragement kept coming.

Rachel's career took a turn when her husband's job ended, leading her to discover her passion for baking and entrepreneurship. What started as a simple endeavor in 2017 soon evolved into a full-fledged business specializing in custom buttercream cakes and other delectable treats, including homemade rice cereal treats and sugar cookies.

Driven by her commitment to exceptional customer service and top-notch products, Rachel's business flourished. She attributes her success to her dedication to quality, professionalism, and personalization. "My background in hospitality allows me to offer a different level of service," she states.

Rachel believes that She's Gone Bananas stands out due to her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to customer service. As a licensed business and food management certified professional, she ensures that every aspect of her business is conducted with integrity. Rachel's use of homemade buttercream instead of fondant and royal icing also distinguishes her cakes.

Despite facing challenges and undergoing numerous trials, Rachel's passion for baking and entrepreneurship remains unwavering. She dreams of expanding her business into a brick-and-mortar establishment, providing the community with a welcoming space to indulge in sweet treats and socialize.

Rachel credits the support of her family and the local community for a large part of her success. "I truly love what I do," she says. From humble beginnings to a flourishing business, She's Gone Bananas stands as a testament to Rachel's determination, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Rachel has been married to her husband for 21 years and is a proud mom to an amazing 16-year-old son.
